For all of you who had the misfortune to read my last blog featuring work crap and Cheryl Cole, I apologise. I was approached to do this weekly blog because I’m an “opinionated person” and isn’t afraid to air my views providing I can support them with factual content.
But I felt the right thing to do this week was to stay quiet, on my previous blog about Dale Ladson out of respect for Grimsby Town Football Club and Chairman John Fenty…Today that all changes!
Earlier this week I wrote three blogs and sent them all over to a couple of close friends and asked for their opinions and they were overwhelming in support for one of the three.
But because I am very awkward I’m going to re-write them all and feature all three in one plus a bit more.
Last week many UTM readers may recall the articles which caused quite a stir amongst Grimsby Town Football Club’s senior staff. No more so than Chairman John Fenty and Media Manager Dale Ladson who I both received emails from expressing their concern.
To put UTM’s criticism in perspective, past articles which have been published by Dale Ladson had factual and misleading errors. These mistakes still have not been acknowledged by the club which has caused emotions to run high recently.
This week, (Monday) Grimsby announced Neil Woods as manager although it was meant to be announced at 3pm, text subscribers received the news at 1.15pm!
Radio Humberside announced the new manager as Woods at 12pm and rather than do anything about this, the club stayed silent. So the news was out in the open three hours before it should have been.
For every Grimsby Town supporter there is no other match that is looked out for when the fixture list is released before the season starts than the local derby between the Mariners and the Imps.
Next up... Lincoln City at Sincil Bank
However both teams have not had a pleasant start to the season, and now that it is late November rapid progress is certainly what both sets of fans are calling out for if their club is to avoid relegation this campaign.
The Mariners will make the short journey to Lincoln tomorrow.
Adie Bell, the Linc’s sports editor caught up with Imps manager Chris Sutton to get his views on the local derby and how Lincoln have prepared for the derby.
Firstly for those that remember my blog from Tuesday I wrote about Dale Ladson – Media Manager for Grimsby Town Football Club. I emailed Dale yesterday regarding a ticket promotion with Bet 365, basically you get two free tickets for the Morecambe game when you sign up with them.
I already have my tickets sorted so I wanted to get the tickets for people who wouldn’t normally go. It may persuade them to come back again if we play well – I’m already signed up to Bet 365 so I emailed Dale to ask about the offer and whether it applies for existing customers – the email I got back was simply ‘No it doesn’t – Dale Ladson’.
Grimsby fans travelling to the game at Lincoln tomorrow will be able to buy gain entry to the game by purchasing their ticket on entry at the Sincil Bank turnstiles.
This weekend will see Grimsby Town travel to Sincil Bank to play local rivals Lincoln City.
The fixture usually attracts a much bigger attendance than usual which overall can lead to rival fans clashing inside and outside the football ground.
UTM Editor Tom Farmery caught up with PC Andy Pearson the Football Intelligence Officer for Lincolnshire Police, to discuss what measures will be taken to prevent any type of disorder this Saturday.
It’s slightly late this week but as I announced last week the 12th man campaign was launched and so I have been working on that as well as working my arse off at work doing stupid shifts which completely mess up my body clock! Don’t work for Morrisons. If you ever get the chance say no!
After Poojah’s rant on the Fishy made national news this week, appearing on Radio Five Live this morning, I have some work to do to beat it… not that I’m trying.
